Deadline Extended to 5/24/21 - Skagit Valley Joint Fire Agencies and Skagit Valley College Fire Scholarship - The Skagit County Joint Fire Agencies with Skagit Valley College are excited to offer scholarships to new qualifying Fire Protection Technology first-year students beginning Fall Quarter, 2021! This scholarship opportunity covers the cost of tuition, fees, books, uniforms, and certificates for the two-year degree program (approximately $8.000 annually) and membership as a firefighter/EMT in a participating Skagit County fire agency.
5/22/21 - Whatcom County Farm Bureau - $3,000 in scholarships with a minimum of $500 award for each winner. Applicant must be a child, legal dependent or spouse of a dues paid Whatcom County Farm Bureau member entering college, technical school or university as a full time student in 2021-2022 and not previously received the scholarship.
5/23/21 - Northwest Washington Fair Foundation - $500.00-1000.00 - Criteria: Whatcom County student that plans to major in an agricultural related field. Judging is determined by academics, character, essay and personal interview. Information and application are available on the website.
6/14/21 - Accountants of Tomorrow Merit-Larson Gross - Offering two non-renewable $1,000.00 scholarship to a senior who plans to pursue a bachelors degree in accounting. Scholarship will be awarded based on leadership, academics, civic, and extracurricular activities and who can articulate their serious interest in pursuing an accounting career.
6/30/21 - Bellingham Technical College Scholarships - Many scholarships are available for students planning to attend BTC in the fall of 2021. 53% of students who apply receive scholarships. The online application is available April 15 through June 30, 2021. Students will be notified in mid-summer of scholarships for Fall 2021.
1/31/21 - Dan L. Barron Trades Scholarship - Barron Heating, in honor of company founder Dan Barron, and to carry on his legacy of providing our community with quality service while supporting his employees with exceptional careers is offering (2) $5,000 scholarships to individuals looking to enter the HVAC, Electrical or Plumbing trades. Scholarship to be used at BTC.
2/12/21 - Todd Curran Memorial Scholarship - Every year two scholarships in the amount of $8,000 each ($2,000 per year for up to four years) will be awarded. Applications need not be based on financial need. Basic requirements include: involvement in some sports activity, involvement in some community service activity, and minimum GPA 3.0. 2/26/21 - Whatcom Dollars for Scholars - Many different scholarships are offered ranging from $1,000.00-$10,000.00. The Whatcom Community Foundation was established in 1996 to provide financial and technical support to the numerous nonprofit organizations working to make Whatcom County an even better place to live, work and play. Complete one application have many opportunities.
3/1/21 - United Steelworkers Local 12-591 - There is $50,000 available in scholarships. Scholarships are available to all high school seniors in Skagit, Island, Whatcom, and Snohomish counties, as well as to the children of our members wherever they may reside, who have been accepted or applied to an accredited institution.
3/7/21 - Whatcom Community College Foundation Scholarship - Awards vary: There is (1) $1,000 award available to a graduating NVHS senior. There are many scholarships listed on their web site (5 page list!). If you are planning to go to WCC you should definitely look these over to see if you meet the criteria required.
3/15/21 - Hope4Justice of Whatcom County - $1,000.00 - Student Trafficking Education Project (STEP) Scholarship - Juniors or seniors from Whatcom County high schools are invited to compete for the STEP Scholarship by creating and presenting on Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST) to others in 6th-12th grades. The winner will be chosen and celebrated in the spring of 2021. See Ms. McReynolds or Ms. Wentworth with any questions.
3/15/21 - Sisu Children's Fund Scholarship - $1000.00 - Criteria: Students with medical or physical disabilities or past medical treatment if it has interfered with scholastic records, and attend a 4 yr., 2yr. or technical college. A student attending Bellingham Technical College is eligible for a $2500.00 scholarship.
3/17/21 - Bellingham-Whatcom County Professional Fire Fighters Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is for a student attending a two or four year post secondary institution (community college, technical college, college or university) and pursuing a career in one of the following fields: fire service, fire sciences, health, emergency medical or medical sciences. *Preference may be given to fire service employee/IAFF member children.* Minimum 2.5 GPA.
3/31/21 - Nooksack Valley Scholarship Foundation - ALL NVHS students planning to attend college (2yr., 4yr., or vocational/technical) with a GPA of 2.0 or higher should apply. This scholarship is only for NVHS students! Last year they gave out $75,000.00! NO LATE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED, must be postmarked by March 31, 2021.
3/31/21 - CHS Northwest Careers in Agriculture Scholarship - Students must be pursuing a career in agriculture. The awards are based on academic achievement , potential leadership in agriculture and an ability to contribute to agriculture in the future. Applications are available online under "Resources".
3/31/20 - Combat Veterans International Chapter 1 - $1,000.00 - Scholarship for the son or daughter of a US military veteran who is a resident of Whatcom, Skagit or Island Counties and planning on attending either college or trade school.
3/31/21 - Greater Bellingham Running Club Scholarship - $1000.00 - Running scholarship to college bound seniors from Whatcom County High Schools. Candidates should have not only a current love and dedication to running, but also an intention to continue running into their future. Competing at the college level is not a requirement.
3/31/21 - Whatcom Women in Business (WWIB) - Award is $5,000.00 for up to 5 recipients. This scholarship is for women entering higher education including technical or trade school, beauty school, community college or university. More information available online. Make sure to scroll down.
4/1/21 - Whatcom County 4-H Post High School Scholarship - $600.00 This scholarship is offered to seniors who are a currently enrolled member in a Whatcom County 4-H Club and have been accepted into the school where they want to apply the scholarship.
4/15/21 - Mt. Baker Rotary Club - These scholarships are for students attending community college, technical college or four year university. Scholarships are awarded based on academic accomplishments, community involvement, leadership and participation in extracurricular activities. Applicants are also judged on accurate completion of the application form.
4/15/21 - BIAWC - Building Industry Association of Whatcom County - Evaluation criteria: academics, work experience, community service/school activities, 3 letters of recommendations, financial need and a short essay on your career goals.
4/15/21 - Deming Logging Show Auxiliary - $500.00 awards: This scholarship honors two or more graduating seniors from a Whatcom County high school who are related to people in the logging industry within Whatcom and/or Skagit counties or related to a Deming Logging Show volunteer. Scholarships are given for either college or vocational-technical schools. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member and a transcript must be sent with the application.
4/22/21 - Assistance League of Bellingham - The Enrichment Scholarship Program provides over $50,000 in summer scholarships to middle and high school public school students in Whatcom County. Students may apply for summer enrichment camps in a variety of areas such as: music, science, art, debate, technology, dance, leadership and many others. Deadline Extended: Application must be post-marked by 4/21/21 or delivered in person by 4/22/21. See website for complete details.
4/30/21 - Lynden/Ferndale International Masonic Lodge Scholarship Award in memory of Frank and Ronnie Juntunen - $1,500.00 Award
4/30/21 - North Cascade Concert Band - Keith Eide Memorial Scholarship - $1,000.00 - Recognizing that participation in music activities can be a life-long experience, the purpose of the scholarship is to encourage the post-secondary study of music, to honor the influence of Keith Eide on the lives of countless student and adult musicians, and to provide the North Cascades Concert Band an opportunity to acknowledge achievement in music at the high school/college level.
5/1/21 - Everson Lions Club - Award amount to be determined by need. Criteria: Commitment to furthering your education and community involvement. Academic, school activities and future plans considered. Open to seniors planning to attend a technical school, community college or four-year university in the 2020-2021 school year.
5/3/21 - Nooksack Valley Athletic Club Scholarship - $250.00 Award, Criteria: NVHS Athlete, community service, sportsmanship and recommendations. No code violations.
5/4/21 - Whatcom County Dairy Women Judy Scholten Scholarship - $1,000.00 Award - Available for a fulltime freshmen or sophomore student at a community college, technical school or a 4-yr college/university in the fall of 2021. Must be involved in dairy farming in one of several ways as outlined on the application. Application must be post-marked by Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
5/14/21 - American Legion Riders Post 7 John Fassett Memorial Scholarship - $1,000.00 award(s): Whatcom County high school seniors who will be attending a community college, trade school or university in Fall of 2021. Recipients will be awarded this scholarship for exemplary community service and their continued commitment to bettering their local and global communities in the future. Qualifying applicants will share the same kind of giving heart that John Fassett showed in his lifetime through donation their time to help others, volunteering in their community or setting examples of what it means to truly give without expecting anything in return.
