  • Career and Technical Education (CTE) at NV emphasizes real-world, real-life skills and connects the learning to academics and training that will help our students be successful in the global economy. Our goal is that every NV student will graduate from high school globally competitive for work and post-secondary education and prepared for life in the 21st century.  Students are entering a highly competitive workforce and we are working hard to ensure our students are prepared. When we say students are career and college-ready, it means they can integrate and apply 21st-century skills, technical knowledge, and core academic knowledge. Students even take OSHA training courses to help them work safely in their future careers.

CTE Dual Credit (formerly Tech Prep) offers high school students an opportunity to earn college credits for approved high school courses. Working together, high school and college instructors have determined that certain high school career and technical education courses meet the entry-level course requirements of comparable college courses. These courses are identified as CTE dual credit approved. Students enrolled in these courses may be eligible to receive WCC or BTC credit.

Students who complete approved CTE dual credit courses with a grade of "B" or better may request college credit by completing and submitting a dual credit application form. Registration instructions are available in the counseling hub.
