Jacqui Rodriguez Selected as Rising Star

Nooksack Valley High School has a certified rising star. Student Jacqui Rodriguez was selected as the Career Connect Northwest’s Rising Star Award recipient for the Northwest region. 

The award is given to high school girls exploring STEM and offers recipients a chance to continue STEM education. 

“Jacqui is a remarkable force for change, skillfully using technology to spotlight underrepresented voices in our community,” says Owen Craig, NVHS teacher. “Her projects not only showcase her technical prowess but also her deep commitment to inclusivity and cultural heritage, making her an inspiring example of how STEM can serve as a bridge to understanding and unity.” 

As the winner, Rodriguez receives a $500 stipend, STEM-related prizes, a visit to the Microsoft Bellevue campus and the opportunity to network and be mentored by STEM professionals.
